MGM STUDIOS
We spent just one day at MGM - for us this was about right as the kids were not familiar with all the big films that the park is centred around - it is probably aimed more at adults and teenagers. Nevertheless, there are some great attractions there and knowing the films is not crucial to having a good day out.
Here's a quick rundown of the things we did at MGM Studios and what we thought:
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular - a fantastically produced show which mocks up the set of Raiders of the Lost Ark and demonstrates how the various stunt sequences are put together. Using members of the audience as extras on the set was an amusing touch and it is a show you should not miss
- Star Tours - we felt this was ultimately a pretty standard flight simulator ride but Oliver (who loves Star Wars) thought it was brilliant!
- MuppetVision 3D - a 3D show using 3D glasses. Like all the 3D shows at Disney it is very well done and even has Statler and Waldorf complaining the whole way through!
- Who Wants to Be A Millionaire -
Play It! - this is pretty popular as it is just like the show. They have set up a studio so it is just like being in the audience for the show and you even get to take part as the 'Fastest Finger' question - the person getting the quickest right answer going into the 'hot seat'! We were glad neither of us went up there as the questions are very US-biased and us Brits hardly understood the questions let alone knew the answers! It is a bit boring for the kids but we found it really interesting
