CHARACTER DINING

Florida with the kids

Meeting Cinderella at the Disney Grand Floridian Hotel

Mostly for Alice’s benefit we booked a Character Dining meal at the Grand Floridian Hotel which is part of the Disney complex. You have to book in advance to reserve a table by calling 001-407-939-3463.

We think that the characters that are walking around the tables vary with whether you go at breakfast or dinner – on the night we went (for dinner) there was Cinderella, Prince Charming and the mice from Cinderella – perfect for Alice.

The food was served buffet-style and although it wasn’t advertised as such, it amounted to an ‘all you can eat’ set-up. The food was OK (Oliver thought it was wonderful!) for the money but really what you are paying for is the overall experience and, on this basis, was pretty good value.

There are other Character Dining places at WDW (most notably the Cinderella Breakfast at Magic Kingdom which is booked up minutes after reservations are available months earlier) and if your kids are the right age it is probably worth doing.
